Founded way back in 1936, the company began its activity by concentrating its resources on the production of primary aluminum and then reconverted, in 1976, to the production of aluminum extrusions. This strategic change marked the beginning of a journey of growth and transformation that has led Aluminum Bozen to excel in the European context for the production of extrusions in hard aluminum alloys.
Aluminum is a very important material, it is among the most widespread elements in nature. It is a metal known for its lightness and ecological sustainability, as it can be recycled 100% and an infinite number of times without losing its peculiar characteristics: resistance to corrosion and high electrical and thermal conductivity.
These properties make it suitable for multiple sectors and applications. Over the past decade, Aluminum Bozen has consolidated its leadership position through an unwavering commitment to operational excellence and technological innovation. Both in the foundry and extrusion departments, the company implements continuous changes and technological innovations to make the processes as efficient as possible. It all originates from the foundry which, over the years, has represented the flagship of the Bolzano plant.
Through a semi-continuous casting process, the billets are produced in modern, cutting-edge furnaces, where aluminum and alloys are melted at suitable temperatures, giving life to the billets. These, once formed, are subjected to various heat treatments before moving on to the next department: extrusion.
The extrusion department, the beating heart of the Bolzano plant, boasts modern production lines equipped with high-capacity direct and reverse hydraulic presses capable of guaranteeing the production of high added value profiles for the industrial and transport sectors.
Thanks to these integrated production processes, Aluminum Bozen ensures high quality standards and a diversified range of products suited to customer needs.
But it is not just technological excellence that distinguishes Aluminum Bozen. The company also stands out for its strong commitment to environmental and social sustainability. By using clean energy from its photovoltaic system, the company reduces its dependence on traditional energy sources and actively contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions, producing at zero km thanks to the presence of the foundry and extrusion in the same company complex in Bolzano, and operating in the circular economy through the total recycling of aluminum and its alloys. It also uses energy suppliers who produce energy for the plant, at least 40% from renewable sources.
May 2, 2024 marks not only a decade of business for Aluminum Bozen, but also a time for reflection and gratitude.
