Rimini, Morra and the contract clause

The objective will be to hold the big guns. The market is still distant, but Rimini’s future undoubtedly depends on its big players.

Claudio Morra is the flagship of the red and white club. Twenty goals in total (19 in the league and one in the Italian cup) and a contract with Rimini until 30 June 2026. When he put pen to paper last summer, Morra had a clause, of some importance, inserted into the contract which if “covered” by a club (and accepted by the player) will be enough to take him away from Rimini.

The other big names

There is already a good backbone and therefore the base from which to start again is not lacking. Goalkeeper and captain Colombi has signed until 30 June 2025 and has proven to be super reliable this season. There should be no doubt about his permanence. At the center of the defense is Pietrangeli who has recently renewed until 30 June 2026. In this case, however, the question is different because already in January he risked leaving with the direction of Bolzano, then instead he finished the season on the shores of the Adriatic linking himself to Rimini for a couple of years otherwise he would have left at no cost in June. Sudtirol has never left the scene and it is a safe bet that they will soon be back in action. In short, the chances that Pietrangeli will remain despite the contract are not high.

The third piece of the backbone is Langella, a midfield director. In total 40 tokens between the championship, play-offs and Italian cup with a goal scored. Not always brilliant, however overall a constant point of reference (the assist to Cernigoi in the 0-1 in Gubbio was brilliant), he put pen to paper until June 2025. So the attack which in addition to Morra also includes the various players under contract Ubaldi, Lamesta and Cernigoi (all until June 2025). Only the last one disappointed expectations a little even if Gubbio’s goal was very heavy.

In the second row there are the left back Semeraro who has recovered after a difficult start, the Lithuanian Megelaitis split between midfielder and right back, the midfielder Garetto (skilled on dead balls), the expert Sala, the defensive joker Lepri and the midfielders Rosini and Leoncini. Perhaps not everyone will stay but there is no shortage of useful material for the cause.

Between deadlines and returns

Having said that Capanni will return at the end of his loan to Ternana and that Malagrida will return to Sampdoria, the central defenders Gorelli and Gigli are expiring (and their cases are more urgent to deal with), the second goalkeeper Colombo, the full-backs Quacquarelli, Oddi and Tofanari, the midfielders Marchesi and Delcarro. Lombardi (from Pontedera) and Acampa (from Renate) will return.
