The Recovery investigation carried out this morning highlights the role Patitucci defined “manager, promoter, organizer and financier of the associationin his main capacity the reference point for the ‘Ndrangheta confederation operating in Cosenza and in the neighboring territories”, and according to the accusations made by the Catanzaro DDA he led and directed the drug trafficking activity as the head of the so-called group of “Italians”.
A capillary control: from supplies to relationships with representatives of other clans, aided by those identified as the main representatives, Michele Di Puppo, Mario Piromallo, Roberto Porcaro, Salvatore Ariello and Antonio Illuminato. It would have been Patitucci who divided the drug dealing areas and decided who should collect the money for the business.

The investigation, as mentioned, also affected some alleged members of the so-called clan of Gypsiesactive in Sibaritide, considered suppliers of cocaine.
The investigations started from Operation Reset
An activity which is the continuation of that completed with the “Reset” operation and which concerned the continuation of the operations of criminal organizations of the ‘ndrangheta of Cosenza and its hinterlanddivided into different groups organically confederatesand all traceable to one top structure.
In particular, everything is traced back to the two main ones groupsthe so-called “Italian clan”, in its various components, and that of the ‘gypsies‘, also with various articulations, in the structure that was redetermined following the complex and fluctuating relational dynamics between them, as well as the numerous legal events, with the related different outcomes, which affected them.
Extortion from commercial activities
In the precautionary order, against the suspects, the circumstantial gravityamong other things, for multiple extortion eventsaggravated by mafia methods and purposes, to the detriment of owners of commercial establishments and entrepreneurial activities. The circumstantial gravity acquired at a precautionary level also concerned the parallel partnershipoperating under the aegis and in the context of the same ‘Ndrangheta clique, dedicated to the trafficking of various types of drugs, within the framework of what is hypothesized as the system that governs all relationships between the various criminal subgroups of the city of Cosenza and its hinterland.
The crimes, numerous, concern the widespread drug trafficking and dealing of different types, cocaine, heroin, marijuana hashish but also extortionattempted and consumed, connected to drug trafficking, aggravated personal injury, and crimes relating to weaponseven with the aggravating circumstance of mafia, as well as crimes of theft, attempted and committed.
Of the 142 under investigation, 109 were the recipients of precautionary custody measures in prison, 20 were placed under house arrest; an obligation to stay was issued for 12 subjects, and then a disqualification measure was carried out.
