While Siracusa prepares for next Sunday’s play-off final, the controversy via social media with Acireale takes center stage, in a sort of long post-match. The Granata were defeated 3-0 at De Simone but their president, Di Mauro, didn’t like some off-field things: cold showers and hospitality in a “cabinet”, above all.
“Frankly, the next day, I would have expected an apology from the president of Acireale Di Mauro and not a surreal reading of what I saw at De Simone. An apology for all the insults he directed at me and my family (any disciplinary aspects will be dealt with by those who have the task of doing so and were present)”, says a piqued Ricci, losing his usual aplomb.
But Ricci underlines: “What Di Mauro calls ‘gabbiotto’ is actually a skybox, measuring 50 square metres, where we had the pleasure of hosting, among others, the presidents Antonini and Caffo with all their welcome companions. Regarding ‘the impossibility of guaranteeing safety’, in the skybox exactly next to the one intended for the management of Acireale there were the four correspondents (two journalists and two technicians) arriving from Acireale: one of them felt he had to publicly thank our company and in particular our press office for reception and assistance. If there was a problem in the changing rooms with the showers, we apologize. See? It’s not that difficult”, comments the president of Siracusa.
Response from the Acireale bank a few minutes after the publication of Ricci’s post on the Azzurri’s social networks. “Apologies for the shower episode are accepted. The hope is to meet soon, in conditions that honor both of us. Let’s leave similar facts behind us and look to our respective futures”, comments Di Mauro. A truly partial reading of what Ricci stated in his statement, with “hot” aspects not mentioned or clarified by his counterpart from Acea.
But what is shaking the world of Italian fans is above all the recent “trauma” of the cancellation of the historic twinning with the Juve Stabia fans.
