POZZUOLI – The Napoli Nuoto team secured survival in the Serie C Campania championship despite the defeat suffered at PalaTrincone against Ischia. A match where the Flegrei had to do without captain Fabrizio Buonocore. But despite his and Rigo’s absence, the biancazzurri held their own against the difficult Ischia. A match that the team led by Fabrizio Rossi got off to an immediate uphill start, with the islanders’ goal at the start of the match. The first half ends at 3-3 with the Flegrei scoring with Di Napoli, best scorer of the match with four goals, Aveta and Palma. In the second quarter Napoli Nuoto manages to reach 5-3 with goals again from Di Napoli and Pasquariello. Then, however, the guests reacted and scored four goals in a row (5-7). The third half was very tight with the Flegrei still finding a goal from Pasquariello and shortening the score to 6-7. The third quarter is full of goals: seven in total. The islanders score three consecutive goals and it becomes difficult for Napoli Nuoto to recover also because the hosts do not take advantage of the many numerical superiorities they have. The season will end next Saturday at the home of Sc Salerno.
THE COMMENT – «Good performance despite the immediate knockout – declares the coach Fabrizio Rossi -. We had to make up for the absences of Buonocore and Rigo, but this is not meant to be an excuse. I liked the team for the determination they put into the water. We were unable to take advantage of the many numerical superiorities we had but I am satisfied with the performance offered”.
