There are 264 pilots registered for the Trento-Bondone 2024which will take place over the weekend of June 15th and 16th on the roads of the mountains of Trento. An event that is always highly anticipated, which was presented this morning in Trento at Palazzo Geremia, a ritual that officially opens each edition and fulfills the task of reminding the community of the imminence of the appointment, but also that of thanking the public bodies that make this competition possible on roads usually intended for ordinary traffic.
The president of Scuderia Trentina opened the meeting with the press Giuseppe Ghezzi he welcomed the high number of participants and above all the quality of the cars that we will see racing on Saturday and Sunday, many open-wheel sports cars, but also an enviable number of supercars, which will give life to a race within a race much appreciated by the public. Then he thanked the small army of collaborators and volunteers who make themselves available to the organizational machine and invited the public to use the ecological islands installed along the route to leave the spaces that will be used tidy. Fiorenzo Dalmeri, president of the Aci of Trento, underlined how much the organizational machine of the «Trento Bondone» is appreciated outside the regional borders and the constant growth in terms of quality and attention to detail that the Scuderia Trentina has been able to guarantee with the new management. The race director Fabrizio Fondacciin his second experience on this track, explained how the timing will be managed over the two days and reiterated the quality of the cars present, which also extends to the 60 that will parade before the start.
In the end Marco Gadotticoordinator of the Artigianelli, with Damiano and Jospeh, the two young graphic designers who created the new logo of «Trento Bondone», illustrated the synergy with the association of via Rienza.
Moving our attention to the entry list, we find almost all the big names in the Supersalita general classification, such as Simone Faggioli, who will be chasing his 14th success in Vason, Luigi Fazzino, Samuele Cassibba, Franco Caruso, Achille Lombardi and Giancarlo Maroni, the Trentinos Diego Degasperi, Thomas Pedrini, Nicola Grazioli, Matteo Moratelli and Gino Pedrotti. Christian Merli will not be there, busy preparing for the famous “Pikes Peak” in Colorado, but the number of open-wheel cars remains very respectable, given that there are five cars from the Thunder Cip group, 26 from the E2 SC-SS group (10 with engines up to 1,600 cc, six with engines up to 2,000 cc and five with engines up to 3,000 cc), three from the TM SC-SS group and four from the CN group.
Many eyes will also be focused on the challenge reserved for the GT and GTS groups, in which we find seven Ferraris, nine Porsches, three Lamborghinis and one BMW, for a total of 19 supercars. Six are included in the E2 SH group, ten are those with rally preparation. Big numbers for the E1 (23), RS (24), RS Cup (19), Rs Plus (19) groups. In total there will be 196 modern cars expected at the checks, 158 competing for the Supersalita and 38 for the Civm, and 68 historic ones, divided into five categories and 21 classes, a true museum of the traveling automobile.
The program opens with technical and sporting checkswhich will take place next Friday between the former Zuffo square and the adjacent Up Rent car park, while Saturday will be dedicated to the two timed practice sessionsstarting at 9am. The race will start at 10am on Sunday. On Saturdays and Sundays, the public will be able to access the route by purchasing a single ticket, valid for the entire weekend, the cost of which has remained frozen for years at the amount of 20 euros. Children under the age of 16 enter for free.
