Precautionary order issued by the GIP at the Court of Catanzaro was carried out against 142 suspects for crimes such as ‘Ndrangheta-type association, criminal association aimed at drug trafficking and other crimes, aggravated by mafia methods
In the early hours of the morning of 14 May 2024, in Cosenza and in other centers of the national territory, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cosenza, the personnel of the Mobile Squads of the Police Headquarters of Cosenza and Catanzaro, of the SISCO of Catanzaro and of the SCO, the Financiers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Cosenza, with the GICO of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Catanzaro and the SCICO of Rome, with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office – District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro, have implemented the precautionary order, issued by GIP at the Court of Catanzaro, against 142 suspects, on the basis of the deemed existence of serious evidence regarding the crimes, in various capacities hypothesized, against them, including, respectively, ‘Ndrangheta-type association, criminal association aimed to drug trafficking, aggravated by mafia methods and purposes, as well as in relation to numerous other crimes, also aggravated by mafia methods and purposes.
The proceedings for the hypothesized types of crime are currently in the preliminary investigation phase.
The details will be communicated during the press conference to be held at 11.00 on 14 May 2024, at the premises of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Catanzaro.
