Patronal feast of San Simplicio in Olbia here is the program for 14 and 15 May, the last two days of the celebration.
Tuesday 14th
At 7pm in the Basilica of San Simplicio Holy Mass will be held.
At 10pm Fausto Noce Stage: Collage live.
Wednesday 15th
At 05.30 – Through the streets of the city Diana with the musical band “F. Mibelli” of Olbia.
At 10am in Piazza Santa Croce (Church of San Paolo) the welcome of HE the Bishop Don Roberto Fornaciari will be held with the Committee and the F. Mibelli musical band and will continue to the Basilica of San Simplicio.
At 11.30am Piazza San Simplicio: Solemn Pontifical Mass in honor of the Patron Saint, presided over by the HE Bishop Don Roberto Fornaciari and the priests of the Diocese. The liturgical songs will be performed by the Lorenzo Perosi Choir of Olbia.
At 4.30pm in the square of the Basilica of San Simplicio there will be a gathering of folk groups with a performance awaiting the start of the Procession.
At 6pm, in the Piazzale della Basilica of San Simplicio will be held there Solemn Procession in honor of the Patron Saint with the participation of the Bishop SE Don Roberto Fornaciari with the following route: starting from the Basilica of San Simplicio -Via Fausto Noce -Via Boccherini -Via Lombardia – Via Vittorio Veneto – Via Mameli – Via Trento – Via Redipuglia – Via Genoa – Corso Umberto I – Via San Simplicio – Via Gabriele D’Annunzio – Basilica San Simplicio.
The procession will be accompanied by the musical band “F. Mibelli” of Olbiafrom the Band “ B. Demuro” of Berchidda and come on folk groups, coming from the villages of Sardinia: Alà dei Sardi, Berchidda, Berchiddeddu, Laconi, La Caletta, Luogosanto, Macomer, Monti, Nuoro, Olbia, Orotelli, Padru, Sa Castanza, Simaxis, Trinità, Telti, Usini, Coro di Loiri, Coro SOS Astores.
Upon return, the Holy Mass will follow, presided over by the Parish Priest Don Antonio Tamponi. The liturgical songs will be performed by the choir SOS Astores.
At 9pm on the Fausto Noce stage the Regional folklore review with performances by the groups and choirs participating in the event. Present the evening Giuliano Marongiu.
