Next weekend will be different from the last ones. Between Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th the arrival of unstable currents will significantly destabilize the atmosphere with direct consequences on many of our regions.
The cause is to be found in the major maneuvers underway at a hemispheric level with a succession of cyclones descending from the Atlantic on a collision course with the Old Continent and the Mediterranean basin.
For what concern Weekendaccording to the latest updates, a first unstable impulse will enter our country already during Saturday 18 May with the possibility of the first rainfall in particular in the Alps and the nearby plains of Piedmont and Lombardy. Elsewhere, however, we will have more sunny spaces and indeed it will also be very hot with maximum peaks up to 1 26-27°C to the Centre-South.
But it’s not over, on the contrary. After a very short break, a second and much more organized storm front will arrive during the day Sunday 19 May. The central-northern regions, where they are expected, will be at greatest risk heavy rainfall. Given the great potential energy at play and the strong contrasts between different air masses, we do not exclude the possibility of real storms with hailstorms; for the exact localization of the phenomena it is necessary to wait a few more days given the dynamics of the entry of cold air at high altitude.
