Young musicians on the podium

The music of the “Volponi” school of Urbino excels in Pesaro. Like every year, the students of the Urbino comprehensive institute, guided by the instrument teachers, participated in international music competitions, this time enrolling in the 21st edition of the “Città di Pesaro” international competition.

In the competition, held between the Ducal Palace

and the Rossini Theater in Pesaro and included in the program of “Pesaro creative city for Unesco Music” and “Pesaro Italian Capital of Culture 2024”, the students of the “Volponi” school all placed on the podium in the “School prize” section, dedicated to schools, both at the level of soloists and as an orchestra.

First places, with a score of 98/100, to Davide Balsamini (solo guitar) and Chiara Piergiovanni (solo flute), second places to Chiara Caliendi (solo violin) and Bertoni Giovanni (solo violin). Second place also for the Paolo Volponi Orchestra, with a score of 94/100 and special mention by the jury.

The teacher trainers, Enrico Bottegal, Cristina Flenghi and Giovanni Scaramuzzino (director of the ensemble), say they are happy with these results, and the students are also congratulated by the director, Maria Lorena Farinelli, and the entire Institute.
