Umbria Literary Biennial: “Senza Tema”, 360 Degree Culture in Amelia (23-26 May)

The second edition of the “Biennale Umbria Letteraria”, scheduled in Amelia from 23 to 26 May, promises a rich program that ranges from literature to art, from music to dance and theatre. This year’s theme, “Senza Tema”, wants to embody the desire to act without fear, overcoming the worries that often slow down the transformation of ideas into concrete actions. The presentation of the program took place this morning in the Province, with the participation of the Forma Aps association, the Municipality of Amelia and the patronage of various institutions including the Province of Terni, Anci Umbria, the Chamber of Commerce and several local municipalities.

The President of the Province underlined the importance of the Biennial as a cultural vehicle and tool for promoting the territory, praising the initiative and thanking the organizers and supporters for the success of the second edition. The culture councilor of the Municipality of Amelia highlighted the increase in participants compared to the first edition, a sign of a growing cultural event that aims at an international level.

The director of the festival and President of Forma Aps, Cinzia Proietti, underlined the unifying role of the Biennale in enhancing culture in all its facets, offering a new perspective for exploring the city and its historical treasures. The various initiatives will take place in prestigious locations in the historic center, such as the civic museum, the Sant’Agostino Complex and numerous historic buildings.

The program includes the participation of the Strega Prize finalists and numerous authors, actors, musicians, dancers, painters, poets, artists and artisans. Special guests will also be present, such as Annalena Bernini, director of the Turin Book Fair, and Sandra Petrignani, author of the book “Autobiography of my dogs”. Among the scheduled events, musical concerts will be held by the students of the Briccialdi institute in Terni and the solidarity initiative “Lo scrigno dei libri”, aimed at donating books to children in educational communities and juvenile justice centres.
