the 2023 sustainability report presented

The University of Pavia organized the presentation event of its Sustainability Report for the year 2023 at the opening of the ASviS Sustainable Development Festival in which it participates with the organization of 23 events for the entire duration of the month of May.

The event took place on May 8th in the Aula Foscolo of the university.

The Sustainability Report represents an important tool for evaluating the environmental, social and energy impact of the University of Pavia and for identifying the actions undertaken to promote sustainability within the institution. It summarizes the initiatives implemented during the year 2023 and provides a complete overview of the policies and strategies adopted to promote sustainable development. The presentation event, moderated by prof. Andrea Zatti, Technical Contact of the Rector on Sustainability, was an opportunity to discuss the results obtained during the year, highlighting the challenges faced and the opportunities that arose along the way.

Representatives of the Osa team – Office for Suatainablr Actions, teachers, students and representatives of local institutions were present (Mayor Mario Fabrizio Fracassi, Head of Cabinet of the Province Giuseppe Bufalino, Director of the Pavia branch of Assolombarda – Francesco Caracciolo, Vice President of ICS Maugeri – Chiara Maugeri , ARPA Director – Claudia Narducci, ASM Board Member Piero Francesco Schifino), who had the opportunity to actively participate in the discussion.

The main objective of the event

It was to promote greater awareness of sustainability and stimulate constructive debate on future actions. Prof. Francesco Svelto, Rector of the University of Pavia, gave the opening speech, providing a general overview of the progress made and future challenges. Subsequently, the experts from OSA – Office for Sustainable Actions of the University, presented the key results of the Sustainability Report and illustrated the policies and initiatives implemented to achieve the University’s sustainability objectives, giving particular emphasis to the issues of energy, environment, social inclusion, internationalization and education with the aim of creating a positive impact in the local and global community.
