There battle between Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo is destined to continue. Taking a new step is the Juventus club which last April was condemned to pay the Portuguese footballer 9.8 million euros compared to the 19.5 requested by CR7. The Bianconeri, however, are not willing and are preparing their next move.

The decision of the Arbitration Board

The decision of the CONI Arbitration Board on the “Ronaldo Case” arrived last April 17 with the Portuguese player who had opened a dispute regarding the arrears that the club had not paid him after what is known as the “second salary maneuver”. On that occasion, however, the Coni Board had condemned the Bianconeri to pay only 9.8 million euros compared to the 19.5 requested by CR7. The decision, however, was not about the emoluments not received by Ronaldo (the player would never have signed the famous document, ed.) but for what the Board defined as a “pre-contractual” responsibility on the part of Juve.

The stages of the Ronaldo affair

The case concerns, as mentioned, the second salary maneuver which refers to the 2020/2021 season. On that occasion some Juventus players decided to give up a salary deal after the club, like all those in Serie A, had been heavily affected by the Covid pandemic. Ronaldo requested the payment of that season’s emoluments amounting to 19.5 million euros gross that he would never have received, Juventus for its part has always declared that the Portuguese’s signature on the famous “paper” would never have been there and that in reality CR7 would instead have affixed his “autograph” to an agreement in which he declared to Don’t have any inclination with the club right away before moving to Manchester United.

Juventus’ motivations

Although the Juventus has not yet officially announced its decisionit now seems certain that the Juventus club has chosen to challenge the award because he believes he acted correctly towards and claims that the Board also found that theabsence of malice on the part of the Juventus club. For this reason the battle will continue at the Court of Turin. Moreover, Juve itself, strong in its position on the matter, had decided not to set aside any reserves in the event of defeat against Ronaldo. Now a new chapter opens in this long-distance battle.
