From 19 to 23 June, Taranto will host the 24th edition of Medimex, a festival that celebrates music, innovation and digital culture. Among the main events, the exhibition “Bob Gruen: John Lennon, The New York Years” and the video mapping “Infinite Loop, AI Endless Exploration”. The exhibition, set up at the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA) since June 19th to July 14thtraces the collaboration between photographer Bob Gruen, John Lennon and Yoko Ono through 60 photographs and texts.
The photographer himself will be present at Medimex and will participate in a meeting at MarTA on June 19th, he became the couple’s personal photographer and was able to tell with his camera moments that portrayed them both in their professional and private lives after their move to New York in 1971.
From the evening of 20 to 23 June, the facade of the Aragonese Castle of Taranto will be the canvas for the video mapping “Infinite Loop, AI Endless Exploration”, an original work by Roberto Santoro and Blending Pixels created for Medimex. Through images and sounds, video mapping will reflect on the topic of artificial intelligence, exploring its potential and dangers. “The choice to portray the AI with a Cybernetic Siren – it is said in a note – is functional to represent the creature that enchants humans, concealing its own danger”.
Medimex is a project of Puglia Soundsthe Puglia Region program for the development of the regional music system.
