TURIN. “The 2024 Turin Book Fair has further brought culture, songwriting, writing, poetry, art and agri-food to the fore in an international and specialist space. A great job that would not have been possible without the extraordinary dynamism and experience of the Ligurian publishers who animated our stand”. Thus the interim president of Liguria Alessandro Piana takes stock of the Region’s participation in the Turin International Book Fair.
They were 110 speakers animated the program proposed by Ligurian publishing at the XXXVI edition of the event for five intense days, where Liguria was a guest region for the first time. In addition to the three major events in the Lingotto rooms, there were 60 were hosted in the scenic setting “Liguria Room” under the coordination of Fondazione De Ferrari ETS.
We talked about art, culture, history, current affairs, scientific dissemination, comedy, characters, gastronomy and territory, as well as, naturally, narrative and poetry. What won over readers were above all the titles linked to typical cuisine and the territory (outdoors and tourist guides), but also to literary criticism and non-fiction, confirming the attractiveness of Liguria and the authority of its pens in the book panorama.
Many themes were explored during the 36 panels that took place between the “Sala Liguria” and the auditoriums of the Book Fair. The major events planned by the Liguria Region have in fact talked about Songwriting, with guest Gino Paoli, Poetry with Elisabetta Pozzi and Federico Sanguineti, and Comedy by Paolo Villaggio, with Enzo Paci, Gianni Fantoni and his daughter Elisabetta. A fresco of illustrious people inaugurated on the first day of the fair by Jean Blanchaert, author of the 100 faces of Liguria which colored the external walls of the “Sala Liguria”.
The various initiatives of the Liguria Region involved the Municipalities of Genoa, Bordighera, Casarza, Moneglia, Ospedaletti, Sarzana, and other bodies and institutions, including the University of Genoa, the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts , the Genoa Aquarium, the Sanremo Casino, CNA and the numerous awards and cultural events in Liguria. The 40 classes of Ligurian schools also participated in the 2024 edition of the event, with over 700 students, who arrived in Turin thanks to the Ligurian ‘Orientations’ initiative.
