The 17th edition of the international “Cantagiovani” festival in Salerno was recently held between 3 and 4 May, where between workshops and competition, the girls of the ‘Ensemble Vocale Sunrise’ youth choir were able to put into play, increase and do
discover your skills. The girls immediately engaged in the vocal workshop with soprano Martina Burger, opera singer at the Ljubljana Opera; concertation and direction workshop with the prestigious Basilio Astulez, choral director;
as well as in more innovative paths, such as the ‘Yoga of Sound’ laboratory, combining the charm of music with a more psychic sphere, showing the all-round potential of music. As they say, music unites, and this is what emerged in a few
months since its formation in the ‘Sunrise’ choir, demonstrating a great union between its members, which was strengthened even more on this occasion: the commitment and dedication of the girls did not stop at the single musical sphere, but expanded to take care of every aspect of their performances, so as to overwhelm the public and jury with the harmony of their complicity. But not only that: the festival proved to be an opportunity to engage with the other eleven participating choirs, including white and youth, offering
an opportunity for mutual exchange and growth between different age groups. This is precisely the binding power of these artistic experiences, not limited to training as choristers alone, but aimed at increasing singular and human skills that individuals can bring back into their private sphere. Having enriched their suitcase of skills, the Sunrise girls returned from these days of pure music with awareness
to be able to dare, to broaden one’s repertoire even in the classical sphere, without absolutely losing one’s pop essence. It will be a year full of satisfactions for the Aprilian choir, which for the moment will continue to practice with immense commitment and dedication, always under the attentive and caring wing of its teacher Marina Zeppilli, enjoying the special prize for the most exciting choir ‘Francesca Viscido ‘, the special prize for
best management ‘Paola Galdi’ and second prize for the category to which it belongs, in which the first prize was not awarded. Both first prizes are scholarships,
which the choir fully welcomes for its training through masterclasses. While waiting for other experiences in which to express their artistic streak, the ‘Ensemble Vocale Sunrise’ choir fully savors the vitality that music transmits, the sense of cohesion and
empathy, characteristics that will certainly not be missing in future events.
