The program of celebrations in honor of San Francesco di Paola in Marsala has begun. The parish priest Don Giuseppe Titone and the festival committee coordinate the program.
Already on May 11th the “scinnuta du Santu Patri” was held, which involved the children from the catechism class. On Thursday 16 May, Holy Mass will be held at 6.00 pm, as well as on Friday 17 May, at the end of the celebration the renewal of the Tertiaries’ vows will be held. At 9pm, again at the Church of Corso Calatafimi, a concert by Maestro Giandomenico Anellino will be held, with music by Battiati and De André.
On Saturday 18 May at 5pm there will be a welcome at the port of Santo Paolano, laying of a wreath at sea for the fallen. On Sunday 19 May at 11.00 the Holy Mass and in the afternoon, at 18.00 the celebration will take place in the presence of the city authorities, with subsequent delivery of the medallion to the new members of the festival committee.
Following this, the procession of the Holy Father will unfold through the streets: Corso Calatafimi, Piazza Caprera, Via Nino Bixio, Via Tunisi, Via Regione Siciliana, Via A. Spanò, Via Istria, Via Salemi, Via Dante Alighieri, via Sirtori, Corso Calatafimi.
At the retreat of the procession, fireworks are planned.
