Once the curtain has fallen on the thirty-eighth and final day of the Serie B tournament, we can now take a look at the final ranking that this last round has left us with. After achieving promotion to the top Italian championship and becoming champion of the second division, with the draw in the derby against Reggiana, Parma definitively ended their year at the top of the league table with 76 points. Spezia comes from behind to secure a fundamental victory against Venezia, which gives salvation to the Ligurian team and at the same time paves the way for Como towards the jump in category. In fact, with the defeat of the lagoon players, a draw in the home match against Cosenza was enough for the Como team to secure second place, thus condemning coach Paolo Vanoli’s team to play-off purgatory. In the semi-final the Venetian team will face the winner between Palermo and Sampdoria who will clash in the preliminary round, while the Cremonese team who placed fourth will have to deal with one between Catanzaro or Brescia. Despite the success against Pisa, Ascoli is relegated to Serie C, thus joining the two already condemned Lecco and Feralpisalò, while Bari and Ternana will compete in the play-outs. Below we report the final Serie B standings:
