Pulifundali and Pulispiagge in June in Puglia

Below is a statement released by those responsible:

Next June 5th “Pulifondali” and “Pulispiagge” return to Puglia. After the success in cleaning up seabeds and beaches in the past season, the FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing, Underwater Activities and Finswimming) will dive with its technicians and members to take care of the body of water in front of Porto Cesareo. The objective is to identify and ship waste of all kinds with the collaboration of RAI and the Port Authority Corps – Coast Guard, which have always, together with Suzuki, given substance to the initiative.

The main purpose of Pulifondali and Pulispiagge – explains Prof. Ugo Claudio Matteoli, President of FIPSAS – is to protect the environment and at the same time allow everyone to make a meaningful reflection on the importance of preserving the natural habitat. Last year, throughout Italy, 175 quintals of waste were recovered and this time in the 40 locations involved we will try to double the numbers”.

The Apulian municipality of Porto Cesareo, in the province of Lecce, joined the FIPSAS project and will take care of the correct disposal of waste once it has been removed to dry land.
