Abruzzo among the queens of photovoltaic – Abruzzo

PESCARA. Call it the Green Region, but this time it is appropriate to adopt the English term, that is, “green”, which in the industrial and energy sector indicates the regions that boast the best performances in the field of environmental sustainability. And Abruzzo, according to the latest statistical studies, is on a clear rise, even climbing to fourth position in the ranking of the “Queens of photovoltaic” regions (source Association of Consumers and Producers of Renewable Energy).
The green region of Abruzzo reports almost 24 thousand photovoltaic systems in 2023 that produce energy from renewable sources (30,581,257.19 KWh) with a ratio between real production and estimated production of 82%. Only Valle d’Aosta, Molise and Piedmont (the one that produces the most from photovoltaic) do better.
Hills covered by panels, low cost energy that serves as bread for industries. And how many farmers affected by the damage of bad weather and downy mildew (and for whom they are waiting to know if they will ever receive contributions) are thinking of seizing bonuses, Pnrr funds and incentives to transform at least part of their land too?
Today is the day of the entry into operation of another photovoltaic system, in Cerratina di Pianella. Another was launched in April in San Salvo and a few days ago another sustainable energy plant was inaugurated in Manoppello. And there are many projects in the Teramo area.
Investments which for industries mean lower energy costs in a short time and safe work for big plant engineering companies in the sector.
In Cerratina, for example, today’s plant was built by Di Donato spa, for the production of paint products for the building industry, together with SunCity and Metamer, partners for energy efficiency: over 1,200 high efficiency modules and four energy inverters current. The entry into operation, thanks to the Enel connection, takes place at the Di Donato plant in Pianella. The company consumes on average around 65 thousand kWh per month, and is expected to have self-consumption and bill savings of around 70-80 percent with a production of around 600 thousand kWh/year and a return index of 81%. The green contribution is also measured by the reduction of Co2 emissions which in this case would be equivalent to approximately 2 thousand trees saved annually.
«The system was designed and built by SunCity in two months», he explains Maximum KnightCEO SunCity, «projects of this type enhance work with companies and in the area through the design and implementation of renewable energy systems customized to the needs of companies».
In San Salvo in April it was the turn of the TeConnectivity system, built on the factory site by BayWare: 1,900 panels to produce 1,000 MWh per year both for production activities and to power the electric charging stations for the car fleet corporate and e-bikes. Fulvio Calvone, ad Te Connectivity dictates the green interests: “We are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with the aim of increasing the use of renewable energy and at the same time reducing waste production and water consumption.”
Dayco Europe also continues to focus on self-production of energy and after the two photovoltaic systems in Colonnella and Chieti it has inaugurated a cogenerator in the Manoppello Scalo plant which will satisfy 87% of the electricity needs and 14% of the plant’s heat needs .
The CEO of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico called it a best practice, Luigi Di Giosaffatte, hoping that many will follow the path.
A project capable of providing electricity to 14 thousand families is planned in Val Vibrata. It is the 18 million euro investment presented by “Corropoli Solar”. The installation of 35,672 rotating photovoltaic panels (peak power of 21 thousand kilowatts and estimated annual production of 38 gigawatt hours) is planned on land in the agricultural area bordering the industrial area of Santa Scolastica.
And in the Teramo area there are at least four other projects that in recent weeks have arrived on the table of the bodies called to verify. Another also in Corropoli with 10,584 photovoltaic panels (12.6 gigawatt hours of electricity each year). The project which concerns land between Morro d’Oro and Roseto is larger: 23,368 photovoltaic panels (28 gigawatts per hour each year). Another, smaller one, in Atri with 2.6 gigawatts per hour of annual production.
And then there is the case of the Agrif project Franco Iachinithe entrepreneur former patron of Teramo football: he wants to build a 5 thousand kilowatt photovoltaic park in Piano d’Accio – in Teramo, also committing to stipulate “contracts with the managers of the Bonolis stadium, the Gran Sasso shopping center and the Department of Veterinary medicine, to directly distribute electricity.”
Iachini asks the Abruzzo Region for an urgent examination, and from the letter one can perceive all the haste of the investors, at least those who have obtained financing from the Pnrr complementary fund: «The tender foresees very tight deadlines for the commissioning of the plant, which must take place, under penalty of losing the financing, no later than 31 December 2024″.
