Krstovic and Lucca, same goal haul but different trend

Final season on the rise for Nikola Krstovic. In the year of his debut in Serie A, the 24-year-old Montenegrin scored 7 goals, contributing to the salvation of Lecce which now only needs to be arithmetically certified. The goal for the season is to get as close as possible to a more achievable “on paper” double figure. Let’s explain. In addition to the 7 official goals, Krstovic scored the two (fundamental for points and morale) own goals by Cerofolini (Frosinone-Lecce 1-1) and Gyomber (Salernitana-Lecce 0-1). Furthermore, in the 2023/2024 season, before moving to the Giallorossi, Krstovic had already scored two goals in Slovakia with Dunajska Streetthe team from which Pantaleo Corvino took him.

The return to form in front of goal after the five goals distributed only at the start is important. Nikola Krstovic has been involved in a goal in each of his last three league games (assist against Sassuolo and a goal against both Monza and Cagliari); the class of 2000 could be involved in at least one goal in four appearances in a row for the first time in Serie A.

Udinese, on the other hand, is looking for safety points. At Via del Mare, Fabio Cannavaro will resort to Lorenzo Lucca, with 7 goals, in a run-off with Davis for the starting 1′ position. The former Pisa and Ajax player has scored just one goal in his last 16 league games, after scoring six goals in his previous 12 Serie A games. Furthermore, only two of his seven goals in the competition have come away: against Monza on 29 October and against Lazio on 11 March (his last goal of the tournament).
