[A ROMA] From the Diocese the charge of 120 for World Children’s Day

There will be 120 people, including 55 children, who from the Diocese of Mazara del Vallo they will participate in the World Children’s Day in Rome on May 25th and 26th, promoted by Pope Francis. Yesterday evening the entire delegation met the Bishop Monsignor Angelo Giurdanella at the mother church of Campobello di Mazara, in the presence of the director of the diocesan catechetical office Don Nicola Patti. The parishes of Castelvetrano, Salemi, Mazara del Vallo, Marsala and Partanna joined the pilgrimage. The delegation of 120 people will be joined by another 20 faithful from the Diocese who, independently, will reach Rome in those days. The initiative will take place at the Olympic stadium and in St. Peter’s Square in the presence of the Holy Father and is aimed at boys and girls aged between 5 and 12.

Last night in the mother church in Campobello di Mazara the children showed the Bishop the drawings that they will take to the Pope, the t-shirts with the logos but also the banner prepared by the parish group of Santa Lucia in Castelvetrano “I Colibrì”. The diocesan delegation (there are also parents, disabled children, some grandmothers and catechists) will leave on Friday 24th by train from Palermo and will sleep in a tensile structure in Rome. The return to Sicily is scheduled for May 27th.
