PONTECCHIO POLESINE (Rovigo) – A young list of people from Pontecchio, who care about the town they love: Pontecchio. This is the identikit of the civic list “ViviAmo Insieme Pontecchio”, who presented herself to the citizens on the afternoon of Tuesday 21 May, in a crowded former gendarmerie. The candidate for mayor in the local elections on 8 and 9 June is Michela Bacchiega.

Completing the list is his team of 10 councilor candidates: Alessandro Secondi, Davide Andreotti, Giulia Bassani, Giulia Cipriani, Luca Bordin, Matteo Pozzato, Micaela Paparella, Roberto Tamiello, Valentino Bellinazzi, Valeria Rossi. Each of them had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the large audience, talking about their work and life experiences, their relationship with the country and the needs and dreams linked to this. What emerged, despite the differences in individual experiences, was the portrait of a highly homogeneous team, attentive to those services, those needs, those indispensable requests for a lively, livable country with a strong sense of identity, far from that idea of “suburb of Rovigo” that many people now have of Pontecchio Polesine.

A concrete program, linked to the daily lives of those who really live in the country: the need to return to having two family doctors, instead of the current one, which leads to an unsustainable situation; there need to install an ATM point; the desire to have a fixed presence with regards to the local police; the recovery of some areas that have long been abandoned; road safety, particularly when leaving schools; attention to those who have less; the desire for events and initiatives that recover and strengthen local traditions and values. These are some of the topics touched upon during the presentation.

The next appointment is now for Thursday morning, May 23rd, when the gazebo will return to the weekly market with the mayoral candidate and her councilor candidates. A formula that has already received widespread approval, demonstrating the fact that the community has a strong need for constant and easy contact with the municipal administration.

A need also underlined by Bacchiega, who reiterated the importance of a direct and lasting bond, with the mayor who is present and available to his fellow villagers every day of the week, welcoming and listening to the needs and requirements of the townspeople.
