Academy, two hundred kids and new challenges

The season of Carpi’s return to Serie C was also that of the rebirth of the complete supply chain of the red and white youth sector with 6 teams at the start. The failure to register for the summer of 2021 with the subsequent bankruptcy of the old Carpi Fc had in fact led to the total diaspora of over 300 kids from the thriving red and white youth sector, who settled in clubs in the area (with a loss in the value of the kids’ cards of almost a million euros) and in the first two years Carpi, starting from scratch, had only set up two teams, Juniores and Allievi.

Since the first press conference after taking office, the owner Claudio Lazzaretti had set the objective of his football project as the complete restart of the youngest players, with the aim of also setting up a women’s team next season.

The rebirth was made possible by the agreement with the Cabassi Union Carpi, the Santa Croce club with which a flourishing collaboration was born which led almost 200 young athletes to wear the red and white colors and be able to use the “Sigonio” and “Marri” fields. of Santa Croce and also allowed the creation of the red and white Academy for the little ones. A job that lasted 45 days last summer coordinated by the general manager Enrico Bonzanini, the manager of the technical area Gianni Pellacani and the manager of the youth sector Ruggero Bellini, alongside whom the sporting director Stefano Turcato and the coordinator of pre-competition and training activities also worked. base Luca Alberini.

There were six teams that defended the red and white colours: the National Juniores entrusted to Roberto Corradi, Filippo Benatti’s Allievi 2008, Michele Sommella’s Giovanissimi 2009, two teams of Rookies (2011 and 2012) led by Luca Alberini and Davide Magni and Falcon’s Pulcini 2014.

A season full of sporting satisfactions too, which saw Mister Sommella’s Giovanissimi 2009 triumph in their group and then also win the regional title by beating Saliceta 3-0 in the final in Nonantola with goals from Iannella, Pellacani and Abaslami. After a great progress in the group (22 wins in 26 matches, 138 goals scored and 15 conceded) finished at the top with +3 on Saliceta, Carpi defeated Audax Casinalbo 3-2 against “Sigonio” in the semi-final thanks to goals by Zanini (double) and La Manna.

A close-knit and winning group who then decided, from their own pocket, to give a personalized shirt to the legendary Ivaldo Cavallotti, custodian of the “Sigonio” field, who together with Edda Vignoli and Gianni Casarini is one of the many precious volunteers who are the beating heart of the red and white youth sector.

“The balance of this season is more than satisfactory – explains Pellacani – the owners asked us to reorganize the supply chain and it was a race against time. The six teams were all protagonists of championships up to par and special thanks go to the boys, their families, volunteers, collaborators and staff. Now new challenges await us with the jump to Serie C: the rebirth of the Primavera, then the national teams for Under 17 and Under 15, as well as the women’s team. But the club is ready.” .
