On Sunday 12 May, on a walk in Viareggio, in Piazza Maria Luisa, in front of the Principe di Piemonte bathing establishment, doctors from the Viareggio-Versilia Host and Viareggio-Riviera Lions Clubs, thanks to the collaboration of the local Red Cross and the Friends of the Heart, will be at disposition of fellow citizens for a day of health prevention.
“In adhesion” specifies the President of the Viareggio-Versilia Host Club, also a doctor, Luca Lunardini “to a project of the Lions District 108LA (Tuscany), the two Viareggini Clubs, in close collaboration with the city’s Red Cross, organized the day DOCTORS IN THE SQUARE. Big thanks to all the Lions members who, as always, make their time and skills available to others for free. A big thank you also to the Red Cross and its President Gianluca Molco allowed the realization of the event and to the colleague Massimo Saponaro who is responsible for the project at the Tuscan level. The importance of prevention and screening of pathologies are activities of which people are beginning to understand the importance and this initiative aims to contribute to a first approach to early diagnosis, fundamental for the effectiveness of therapies”
“The Doctors in the Square project” concludes the President of the Viareggio-Riviera Club, Maurizio Bartolomei, represents one of the most important services of our Association and is dedicated to direct intervention in the needs and well-being of the community. Thanks to the numerous doctors of various specialties, Lions members, and local associations, in this case the Red Cross and the Friends of the Heart, we have been able to make free medical visits available to people of all ages, genders and nationalities”.
From 10am to 6pm, in addition to the Lions health camper and the CRI and Amici del Cuore vehicles for diabetes screening and blood pressure measurement, there will also be specialist doctors in the various medical branches for any consultations on the Viareggio walk.
