The official anthem of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity, desired by Pope Francis for a world of peace, will be presented tomorrow, Saturday 11 May, by Arianna. It is a song with gospel atmospheres and international sounds that the Italian singer (who already had the opportunity to perform in the Vatican for the Jubilee of Families in 2000 in the presence of Saint John Paul II) composed collaborating with the American actor Anthony Ramos and the authors William Wells and Flavio Ibba. The event, organized by the Fratelli tutti Foundation in Rome and in the Vatican on 10 and 11 May, will produce a “charter of the human” drawn up by twelve working groups that include thirty Nobel Peace Prize winners, including Dmitrji Muratov, Jody Williams, Tawakkol Karman, Maria Ressa, Leymah Gbowee, Rigoberta Menchù Tum and Muhammad Yunus, scientists, economists, mayors, doctors, managers, workers and sports champions. The song, recorded in Miami and soon to be released, will be performed in St. Peter’s Basilica in front of over a thousand guests. The artist will be accompanied by the fifteen members of the Amazing Grace Gospel Choir.
The World Meeting on Human Fraternity, a forerunner to the great event scheduled for the jubilee year (12 and 13 September 2025), has the objective of identifying alternatives to wars and poverty, the value of “fraternity” is relaunched for the construction of a new world. Recognizing each other as brothers in order to walk together: this is the principle that underlies the initiative. “I am honored and moved – declares Arianna – to have been chosen to compose and perform the BeHuman anthem. As a Catholic, an artist and the mother of an eight-year-old child to whom I would like to guarantee a peaceful future, I firmly believe in fraternity. This meeting, I trust, will be a harbinger of real change in society and in relations between peoples. As I will sing in St. Peter’s, our identity contains global hope: Be Human.”
