A serious accident shook Via Sacchi in Turin. A bus on the Turin-Pinerolo-Oulx line of the Arriva company hit the entrepreneur Valentino Ganz, 69 years old, resident in the city and owner of Asit in via Goretta a Mappano, who unfortunately died instantly.
Despite the help, there was nothing that could be done. Local police officers intervened to investigate the case.
The tragic accident occurred at the intersection with via Assietta, where there is a pedestrian crossing regulated by traffic lights. It is essential to understand which of the two, pedestrian or bus, had the green light at the time of impact.
Arriva expressed deep condolences for the victim’s family and solidarity towards the driver involved, and “is collaborating with the competent authorities to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident. From an initial internal reconstruction, the driver of the vehicle, who was passing through via Sacchi, tried to avoid the pedestrian by going towards the opposite lane, without managing to avoid the impact. The driver, who has worked for Arriva for 28 years, immediately stopped the vehicle in which there were two passengers, and activated the required emergency procedure by promptly contacting the police and medical assistance”.
