Another successful operation in Valdelsa for the Siena Financial Police against illegal work and the marketing of unsafe products. The soldiers of the Poggibonsi Tenenza, during an inspection at a business run by Chinese citizens, discovered and seized over 170,000 office and stationery items without the minimum security information required by the Consumer Code.
The products, without indications such as product name, composition, origin and warnings for use, did not allow consumers to know their characteristics and level of safety.
In addition to the consumer protection violations, the financiers also discovered three illegal workers, for whom prior hiring notifications had not been made, and two other irregular workers, whose hours of work actually worked were higher than those formalized in the part-time work contracts.
For labor violations, the administrative sanctions envisaged were contested and the Territorial Labor Inspectorate of Siena ordered the suspension of business activity until the workers were regularized.
Regarding consumer protection violations, the competent Maremma and Tirreno Chamber of Commerce has ordered the confiscation and destruction of 170,000 unsafe products.
The operation carried out in Valdelsa confirms the constant commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in protecting the market and consumers, guaranteeing conditions of fair competition, combating illegal work and ensuring the safety of the products purchased.
