As Tito to the microphones of the press present at the Store: “We are working, we are racing, but what matters is that we present ourselves well at the appointment on the 21st. We will continue to push this week, then in the next week the workload will certainly decrease. For an event like this, tiredness takes a back seat. Now, we will continue to do what the staff says. In the end, what matters is to present yourself well, because the circle is narrowing and we will find aggressive teams who want to get to the end.
The great team will see each other at the meeting. Now, let’s just run and load, because we’ll be stationary for a few days, but this will then go to climbing. What matters is that we enjoy this journey, because three years ago we know how it ended in the semi-final. In the following years it didn’t go as we hoped, while now we’re back there, thanks to a second place which is an important position, beyond having failed the main objective. The days of waiting can be a double-edged sword, but this is up to us, because with the right attitude all this can go into the background.
The wait? As the coach says, you shouldn’t load it too much. A bit like against Benevento, we have to take to the pitch as a strong team, which we proved to be for long stretches of the championship. The Rose? By playing every four days, the coach is aware that he has people who play less who can give him a big hand. Also because three years ago, we arrived exhausted and especially in Padua there were many people disqualified, due to these playoff regulations. But that’s not the case this year, considering that we have a truly complete team in every department.
The playoffs? The Taranto they can be a troublesome team, we all know that. The teams that have yet to enter, however, there must be a reason why they finished second or third. The circle will narrow when it’s our turn, and everyone will want to reach the goal. Just think of Lecco last year, which went to B like a dream. In short, these things take their time.
The alternation with Liotti? You’ve known me for a few years, I don’t really like to talk. I have a somewhat closed character, but that’s because I always let the pitch speak for itself, regardless of the coach’s choices. There is a coach, he gets paid to make choices. In fact, knowing him, I think he might like it if things go wrong, because it means we care. But regardless of what he may think, I have always put Avellino first. This is why playing for 10 minutes, half an hour, changes little, regardless of how much trouble they may have. What matters is that we all reach the final goal with the same thought.
Other people’s predictions? We are certainly a strong team, we have demonstrated this for large stretches of the championship, but many times it can be the excessiveness of someone who has gone further, of someone who has talked too much. Then, we are certainly a team that can get to the end and fight until the end, we are aware of this.
The excitement in the city? The phrase they say to me the most is ‘We’re back in Serie B’, it’s normal for there to be euphoria and enthusiasm, it’s up to us to drag them further. I can already imagine how many people there could be on the 21st away, we must not let that little flame that has rekindled go out.”
