Viterbo, the annual national assembly of the National Army Aviation Association concluded

VITEROB – Traditional moment of discussion between the members of the National Army Aviation Association in the annual general assembly which took place on the afternoon of 9 May in the location of the Balletti Park Hotel in San Martino al Cimino.

A few dozen delegates representing 1485 members from the eleven ANAE sections spread across the national territory, the members of the presidency and the collegial associative bodies, met together with the new AVES commander Gen. D. Salvatore Annigliato and most of the commanders and non-commissioned officers of the EDRC of the AVES, a way to strengthen the indissoluble bond of the two souls of the blue berets, between the personnel in service and those in retirement, two faces of the same AVES family.

In the usual presentation by Gen. Sergio Buono, national president of the ANAE, he thanked “on behalf of all the members, the Commander of the Army Aviation for his presence and close proximity to our association, as a seal of the unity of intent aimed at cementing the feelings of growth of the AVES and the ANAE. The presence of the AVES leaders was very welcome as it imparts the vigor of youth necessary to make our projects an increasingly concrete reality”.

Among the most significant topics covered, the continuous flow of spectators (authorities, school groups, associations, flying enthusiasts including foreigners) in the AVES museum in Viterbo managed in collaboration with the Viterbo Azzurri Basques, more than 700 visits in the last year and the update of the reuse project of the historic “Legnano and Motta” hangars; the effort in the communication sector with the editorial production of 12 books, the award-winning bimonthly association magazine, the historical calendar (for 2025 it will be called “ANAE2.0 – a quarter of a century of ideas and projects”) and an interactive website; the pilgrimage of ANAE members to the Marian sanctuary of Loreto scheduled for September.

The activity concluded with the “blue evening”, a convivial moment between members and representatives of the AVES units, and then the following morning with the ceremony to honor the fallen at the AVES monument and participation in the anniversary ceremony of establishment of the Army Aviation at the Viterbo airport, with the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. CA Carmine Masiello.
