Healthcare: agreement defined between the Region and private individuals – il Gazzettino di Gela

The agreement between the Sicilian Region and private individuals has been defined to distribute the resources, valid for 2024, and help strengthen the offer of outpatient services to reduce waiting lists.

The agreement was signed during a meeting chaired by the general manager of the Strategic Planning department with the managers of the Department of Health and the trade union organizations representing the sector.

The agreement provides for a total sum of 310 million euros, to be distributed to the various branches (from analysis laboratories to physiokinesitherapy, from cardiology to radiodiagnostics and to other branches) and by province, with an increase of 12 million euros compared to the last year. In addition, the specific needs for radiotherapy (35 million) and nephrology (102 million) were defined.

A budget for 2024 equal to 90 percent of the average 2022/2023 production is allocated to the individual structures; the remaining 10 percent will be assigned by the ASPs in proportion to the provincial needs, on the basis of criteria that will be defined by the regional health department.

In particular, the regional government has identified, after a constructive dialogue with the unions, 8 million resources aimed at reducing waiting lists, guaranteeing a balanced satisfaction of the citizen’s demand for health based on the different sectors.

During the meeting, a rigorous timetable for the distribution of resources was also established. The decree of distribution to the specialist outpatient clinic will be adopted by the department by May 20th; while the contractualization of the ASPs with individual economic operators must take place by 19 June.
