The planned interventions are:
demolition of the existing buildings, in a state of complete abandonment;
creation of a rest area, with approximately one hundred spaces for vehicles, with flowerbeds and new trees to separate the rows of parking;
construction of systems (photovoltaic; lighting; fire prevention; for the recovery of rainwater).
Furthermore, in the part adjacent to the pedestrian entrance, an area will be created as a playground, with draining concrete flooring, installation of games and related anti-trauma rubber flooring.
A lighting system (now non-existent) is also planned to make the parking lot and play area usable even in the evening hours.
For efficiency and energy saving profiles, the project involves the construction of a photovoltaic system to be installed on shelters covering the parking spaces, which will serve both this place and the adjacent sports facilities.
The mayor Vitantonio Petronella and the councilor for public works Michele Mirgaldi highlight that this is a work that is part of the planning of this Administration, aimed both at restoring dignity to a place that has been abandoned for about 30 years and at assigning it to a new and useful public service function.
At the same time, as part of the overall planning on mobility and parking, the Administration is also evaluating suitable locations for campers and motorhomes.
