MESSINA – After giving names to the two bodies found off the Tyrrhenian coast in recent weeks thanks to the photos of the tattoos released by the Prosecutor’s Office of Patti and Barcelona, now it is the Prosecutor’s Office of Messina that is attempting the path of “remote” recognition, disseminating the images of the tattoos present on the body recovered on the shoreline of Rodia, last April 18th.
The man’s body was in poor condition, worn out by several days at sea, but after careful work the Carabinieri of the Scientific Investigations Department of Messina managed to make the two tattoos that the citizen had, on the left thigh and on the left side.
The tattoos themselves could represent a fundamental element for the development of the investigations coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Giuseppe Adorned, also carried out with the technical-scientific support of the Carabinieri of the RIS of Messina, to give a name to the body found and to ascertain the dynamics of death, for which it is deemed necessary to disclose the images.
The discovery could be linked to the other three corpses, found in the sea between 17 March and 14 April, in front of the promontory of Capo Tindari and off the coast of the Aeolian Islands. For investigators the most plausible hypothesis is that it is Tunisians embarked in Biserta last May 5th on the ship that was wrecked while attempting to sail towards Cagliari.
