Closing of the sporting season also for the Regional Division 1 series of the Stella Azzurra Viterbo which concludes an excellent year by placing itself in seventh place in the standings and coming close to what would have been a prestigious achievement of the playoff objective for a team that had achieved promotion in that series just last year. Thanks for all this to a roster made up of young Under 19s and Under 17s (Bacchiddu, Bertini, Bertollini, Canale, Cassieri, Comastri, Di Croce, Madet, Mataloni, Pollastrelli, Seripa, Taurchini, Ughetta), assisted by the seniors De Angelis and Di Battista and Porrone, the last three who, however, for study and work reasons were unable to participate in the final stages of the championship. But a large part of the success achieved must certainly be attributed to Jacopo Vitali, coach who guided his boys in a complicated and very competitive tournament, made up of expert opponents, long trips, historically difficult fields to play on and rosters often to be designed on the basis of many concomitances between the many commitments of the respective calendars of B and Eccellenza Under 19 and 17. The work carried out was truly remarkable, as some victories were beautiful and of great importance, among which the internal one against Algarve Roma, team up to that moment unbeaten, until the last part of the championship in notable crescendo with the success against the strong Veroli in the penultimate match on the calendar.
A once again winning choice made at the beginning of the season by the white-starred club, aimed at maturing and developing the younger players in a competition that is certainly demanding for them, the final result of which further demonstrates the growing strength of a youth sector that is establishing itself as one of the most qualified in the basketball panorama, not only regionally.
