The countdown has begun: the 12th will be staged on Sunday 19 Mayto Reale Mutua Monza Montevecchia Eco Trail (MoMot)the 33 kilometer Brianza ecotrail which has become a point of reference in the Lombardy running panorama.
Monza Montevecchia, many reasons to race it
Born in the seventies and now organized by Monza Marathon Team in collaboration with the Società Alpinisti Monzesi plus other partners, the MoMot is popular for several reasons: to begin with, it is perfect for preparing for another historic Lombard mountain running competition, the Monza Resegone on 22 June, which this year will celebrate the centenary of the first edition. But it can also represent along” (made even more training by the difference in altitude) in view of an autumn or summer marathon.
The other element that makes it challenging is that, as is known, you run in pairs. And it is precisely the team spirit and the ability to manage joys and difficulties together that make it happen an epic ride, to experience at least once in your life.
Monza Montevecchia, the news of the route
Departure in “rolling start” mode and a decidedly challenging route 33.5 km (D+ 700 m.), almost entirely off-road, which from the steps of the Villa Reale in Monza will take the athletes through the Alta Valle del Lambro Park, the Regional Park of Montevecchia and the Valle del Curone, passing through eight municipalities – Monza, Biassono, Macherio , Triuggio-Canonica, Casatenovo, Lomagna and Missaglia, where at the 26th km there is a time gate to be passed within 3 hours -.
The suggestive passage from the small square into the “upper city” of Montevecchia presents something new that the competitors will see face the staircase that leads to the Sanctuary and walk around its perimeter before diving towards the finish line. An extra effort rewarded by a special panorama.
Monza Montevecchia, the charitable purpose
The Monza Marathon Team has always had one of its objectives: solidarity and inclusion in its broadest sense, a commitment that in recent years has allowed us to gather something like 300,000 euros in donations.
And this is why also for this edition of MoMot, as happened in the previous eleven, Part of the proceeds from registrations will be donated to local charities.

Registration is still open, though it is highly likely that the available bibs will run out soongiven that for logistical and safety reasons the race welcomes a maximum of 220 couples, in addition to the wild cards reserved for national level athletes.
