“Manfrinati tried to kill me too”

Marta Criscuolo underlines it: it is the judges who decided to suspend visits to her son for Marco Manfrinati, the man who killed her husband, Fabio Limido, and who disfigured her daughter Lavinia, who is still in serious condition in hospital but – apparently – out of danger.

The former lawyer, who perhaps expected the court to be able to see his son again, in prison yesterday admitted to having attacked his ex-wife but said he had stabbed Limido to death to defend himself from the blows that his ex-father-in-law gave him he would have struck with a golf club to try to save his daughter.

«No comment», Criscuolo’s reply to the version provided by Manfrinati. But he reiterated the threats suffered by his daughter and her family. “It all started – he tells Tgr Lombardia – when he started telling her ‘I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you, I’ll kill our son, I’ll kill my mother, I’ll kill your mother'”.

The various complaints would have been underestimated. «I went to the police when he tried to kill me on March 17 last year, shouting “it’s dangerous, do something”. I heard myself say “ma’am calm down, ma’am calm down”. We got a bodyguard, a wig, I hid my daughter outside the province of Varese, I did everything I could do, but alone, apparently it wasn’t effective.”

Saturday morning, in Varese, a procession, with associations and institutions, against gender violence.
