Prof. Giuseppe Livoti, president of the cultural association “Le Muse” – Laboratory of Arts and Letters – of Reggio Calabria, next Sunday 12 June, 6.00 pm, in the Art Room of Via San Giuseppe 19, first time national, will present Captain Cosimo Sframeli’s latest publication: “THE HEROES OF ZILLASTRO” – The Paras of the Nembo – Aspromonte 8 September 1943 – Falzea Edition. The work was promoted by the Ministry of Defense and the patronage of the National Association “Green Ribbon” – Decorated Mauritian Gold Medal. The life and death of the young paratroopers of the VIII Battalion, 185th Rgt, Nembo Division who, in Aspromonte, on the morning of 8 September 1943 clashed with five thousand Anglo-Canadians. The story, presented thanks to different points of view, retracing places, myths, environments and socio-military events, highlights the last days of life of these heroes who, on the Zillastro Plains, wrote this page of history and, even after death, they managed to trace a path of pacifying and liberating civilization.
