An inspection carried out two days ago by the Municipality to ascertain the state of the places and the works carried out and a new timetable presented by the company to be respected in order not to exceed the times foreseen in the Pnrr financing plan. These are the two steps carried out closely on the work on the Falcone e Borsellino park monitored in recent days by the municipal administration due to delays on the works which could jeopardize the process of the restyling project and the granting of financing. The works, as we know and as had been reported by the citizens and the opposition, proceeded very slowly between delays and the recent replacement of the executing consortium member and in recent weeks the Municipality had insistently requested a new timetable for the works also in light of the latest takeover occurred in the Corsorzio.
With a resolution dated April 15th of the Maintenance and Common Goods service signed by the Ayuso manager, it was noted that the consortium member would be replaced and «that the internal organizational change will not lead to increases in the deadline for carrying out the works – as stated in the document – which this Determination will be transmitted to the Consortium, which is immediately obliged to continue the work in compliance with the new organizational structure and that any delays will be assessed by the SA and the consequences will be attributed to the Conscoop Consortium”.
However, the situation seems to have resolved because the Municipality has received the new timetable for the works and has ascertained within the construction site that the interventions are progressing. The 400 natural and consecutive days for the works foreseen by the timetable started on January 8th and will end in February 2025 and now for example, in the month of May, the construction of the fence and access to the construction site and other related practices are foreseen as works to the storage of the materials, subsequently between now and this summer and until September the company will provide for the fencing and arrangement of the entire green area while it will take September to start the external flooring with screeds.
The works also include interventions on the preparation of pedestrian paths and green areas and works for public lighting. At least 30% of the planned works must be covered by the month of September. Interventions which include in the redevelopment project a new skating rink, a fitness area, a video surveillance system, wi-fi, new benches and furniture for relaxation, kiosks and services. A total redevelopment, awaited for years. It will be discussed today in the Transparency commission convened, on the status of the process and the documents, by president Floriana Coletta.
