Finland has landed at the Carlo Urbani Institute in Moie

The cultural exchange of the “Carlo Urbani” State Comprehensive Institute of Moie di Maiolati Spontini-Castelplanio-Poggio S. Marcello continues as part of the Erasmus+ Program and the Strategic Plan for Internationalization.

In fact, on April 15th, 9 Finnish students from the Kaakkurischool of Oulu arrived together with their 3 accompanying teachers, and for a week they were welcome guests of our school and of the families of the eighth grade boys and girls from Moie who made available to welcome them.

The program of the exchange of educational and cultural experiences included not only the presence of Finnish students at school in the morning hours to attend lessons and some events organized by our Institute, such as the “Teen Spots Neuroscience and Addictions” Conference, but also numerous activities and experiences including various guided tours of the area (from the abbey to the Library La Fornace of Moie, from Colle Celeste of Maiolati, discovering the history, culture and music linked to the great composer Gaspare Spontini, to the excursion in the Conero Riviera, up to the visit to the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition in Forlì), but also convivial and fun moments such as the aperitif based on typical local foods at school and an evening at the pizzeria.

On Saturday 20 April the extraordinary student exchange experience continued with the delivery of certificates in the Institute’s Auditorium and the usual farewells.

Now all that’s left is the time to carry out the “dissemination” activities, also in sight of Europe Day which is celebrated on 9 May, which will involve all the students of the Institute and the school staff on Wednesday 8th and Friday 10th May. The aim is naturally to “disseminate”, i.e. spread knowledge of the project that the Institute has implemented through the presentation at school by the children and teachers who participated in the mobility of videos and images documenting the experiences carried out.

Special thanks go to the families of the students involved who welcomed the Finnish boys and girls with great warmth and availability, creating a virtuous union that made socialization and linguistic exchange even more effective.
