The belief that women have less ability to manage economic and financial aspects is formed very early and derives from the stereotype that women are devoted to caregiving and men are responsible for the family’s economic resources. It is therefore necessary to undermine through culture all those stereotypes that confine women to ancient clichés and this can only happen through the diffusion of a culture of economic citizenship among citizens starting from an early age and within families.

Starting from these considerations, Cassa di Ravenna SpA and FEduF have promoted “Contiamo Pari” in the Ravenna area, the educational module for lower secondary school students, dedicated to the issues of gender equality. During the financial education program the students addressed topics such as work, savings, earnings, salary disparities, family budget and responsible money management with an equal educational point of view, in which each person is placed on the same level with regards to choices on money, with the aim of promoting an egalitarian approach to economic and financial issues.

The journey ended on 9 May at the Franciscan Cloisters of the Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna Foundation: during the morning of work opened by greetings from Antonio Patuelli – President of the La Cassa di Ravenna Spa Group, followed by speeches from Giovanna Boggio Robutti – Director General FEduF and Ernesto Giuseppe Alfieri – President of the Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna Foundation, the approximately 80 students were able to try their hand at the role of journalists by presenting the interviews they carried out with Federica Lodi of Sky, one of the best-known faces of Italian sports journalism, on issues of gender stereotypes and equality in the economic, work and salary fields.

The morning of study and leisure ended with a competition between students answering a series of online questions on economic citizenship, sustainability and gender equality, thanks to the Kahoot! platform.
