Monday morning, May 6, 2024, the students of the Comprehensive were welcomed by the Headmaster of the IIS “G. Peano”, Serafina Rotondaro, who introduced the initiative addressing adolescent boys, digital natives and cybernauts of a network that is often full of pitfalls and falsehoods. False profiles, identity theft, dangerous challenges and content inappropriate for age groups: this is the web that kids eat.
The headmaster recalled:
“The intervention intends educate young people to become responsible digital citizens”.
The head teacher of the “B. Comprehensive Institute” also took part in the discussion. Croce”, Sonia De Luna, who invited the students to dedicate themselves “to open and sincere communication”, encouraging them, at the same time, “to follow their passions and to spend an important part of their time in activities outside the world virtual”.
Underlined the clinical educator Dr. Graziano:
“Dealing with digital risks requires control measures from parents who are often absent or unaware of the online world.
There is an urgent need to monitor your children’s online activities but, above all, rules are needed.
And the rules, very often, translate into ‘No. The No’s that help us grow”.
The Guarantor recalled:
“The digital context imposes the observance of behavioral rules that must also be observed in real life and which must not be transgressed”.
The lively and interesting debate on the need for rules in a constantly evolving digital world ended with the quotation, by Vincenzo Giuliano, of a poem by Renzino Barbera, ‘The star’story of a kite, of a poor piece of colored paper who didn’t know that freedom was in that thread that held her back.
The Guarantor for Children and Adolescents underlined:
