Rai has decided to ask for damages and has suspended payment for the performance of the actor who, as is known, in his appearance at the Ariston dramatically displayed the shoes for which he is the testimonial. The footwear ‘shine’ on stage, particularly in the segment where Travolta danced with Amadeus.

“We started an action in the civil court of Rome towards the companies Divina Luna and of U Power, for breach of contract and violation of the obligations of correctness, for compensation for damages, including reputational damage”, declared the CEO of Rai, Roberto Sergio, in the Supervisory Commission. From an internal audit review “it emerged that neither the employees nor the external collaborators of Rai were aware of the actor’s desire to wear shoes with the U-Power company logo little known to the public – explained Sergio – and the contract stipulated with the company Divina Luna expressly foresaw the prohibition of introducing elements of advertising or promotional value unless authorized by Rai”. The performance therefore “violated the agreements”. Furthermore, Sergio added, “payment of the entire compensation for Travolta’s performance has been suspended.”
