Villa d’Este acquires the “Salesianum Don Bosco”

Villa d’Este Spa announces a new important investment in the area with the acquisition of the real estate complex called “Salesianum Don Bosco” located in the municipality of Como, Monte Olimpino, via Conciliazione 98, which will become a Hospitality Campus: a place of training, attraction and growth of young talents who want to work and specialize in the hospitality sector. Until 2010, the seat of a religious community and since then in disuse, the «Salesianum» of Tavernola was built in 1964 and was characterized as a house of spirituality, religious and social culture, for ecclesial groups. Born as a training and refresher center for Salesians, it then expanded, opening up to the outside and welcoming spirituality meetings for groups and individuals, prayer experiences, without excluding conferences and congresses, in its large internal and external rooms. A pleasant place between the mountains and the lake and surrounded by centuries-old woods, made up of various structures from different eras and partly under historical-artistic-monumental protection.

A development and training center

Now, with the acquisition by Villa d’Este, we want to give the “Salesianum” new life by bringing it back in a certain way to its original function which guided the founder of the Salesians, Don Bosco, in his vocation, namely to educate and educate new generations. The Villa d’Este project is in fact to undertake a major renovation of the spaces to create accommodation available mostly to the Company’s employees, where development and training activities can be carried out in the hotel and restaurant business. In fact, in a phase of growth and expansion, the Company understands the need to invest not only to improve the level of services but also to offer its workers increasingly better conditions that are up to the new demands of today’s job market. In addition to the project of attracting young people who believe and want to grow in the hospitality sector by acquiring professional skills and team skills.

Satisfaction for President Fontana

Doctor Giuseppe Fontana, president of the Board of Directors of Villa d’Este Spa, expresses pride and satisfaction for this new investment in the area: “Our intention is to renovate the properties and take care of the park to set up, in an extremely comfortable environment, the accommodation and common spaces for our staff; not only that, we would also like to set up spaces dedicated to the training of young people, where an ethical-professional path is followed in a protected growth environment made on a human scale which allows everyone to be valued first and foremost as a human being. The structure should become a campus for employees, not with the sole purpose of welcoming them for work purposes, but with the idea of creating an environment for growth and professionalization: conference rooms, training areas where an Academy and ad hoc courses for each room can be developed, cooking and housekeeping. Furthermore, to take care of our employees even during their free time, we would like to use spaces as leisure and entertainment areas such as a cinema room, gym, multimedia/TV rooms and library: meeting spaces where they have the opportunity to get to know each other and rediscover themselves. Our human capital is the most precious asset to be protected, and growing together is the most important responsibility.”
