Cremona Sera – Salone dello Studente Young 2024: the event closes on a positive note

With the last stage of the Tour at the IIS “A. Ghisleri” the 2024 edition of the Salone dello Studente Young has concluded, the annual information and orientation event organized by the Informagiovani of the Municipality of Cremona and aimed at young people leaving secondary schools and their families.

THE TOUR IN SCHOOLS

Between March and May, the institutes participating in the initiative had the opportunity to organize tailor-made orientation events directly at their offices, following an agreed calendar. This personalized approach made it possible to satisfy the real needs of the students, putting them in direct contact with university representatives, other training entities and the world of work of interest to them. This approach has improved the effectiveness of guidance, providing children with essential information for informed choices regarding their academic, training or professional future.

The basic formula, personalized for each Institute, involved the setting up of exhibition spaces in the corridors and/or gyms of the schools involved, where the children were able to interact with teachers and students from universities, academies, ITS, representatives of the world of work and other realities, receive information and collect material. The classroom presentations offered students the opportunity to listen to direct testimonies from representatives of universities, post-diploma training institutions, academies and professionals, thus enriching their understanding of the dynamics of the worlds of training and work. The 2024 formula has in fact been further enriched with new proposals to increase the interest and participation of students, facilitate discussion with professionals and entrepreneurs and offer more complete support in orientation. In-depth meetings with professionals, local entrepreneurs and public officials, selected based on the students’ interests, were organized in the requesting institutes. Furthermore, the representatives of the Interuniversity Council shared their precious experiences with the students, thus completing the orientation process. At each stage they were able to have the support of guidance experts from Informagiovani to receive useful information and book individual meetings at the Cremona desk.

There were a total of 7 stages of the Tour which took place at the “Anguissola”, “Einaudi”, “Ghisleri”, “Manin”, “Stradivari” and “Torriani” Institutes in Cremona as well as at the “Romani” Center in Casalmaggiore: over 80 classes for a total of over 1,600 students (fifth grade and, for some institutes, also fourth grade).

Among the main needs that emerged, we highlight the need for support in choosing and in the analysis of one’s expectations, ideas of the future and in the knowledge of training paths and opportunities. Over 100 personalized orientation consultations (courses of 1 or more meetings) in the fields of training and job search carried out at Informagiovani.
