Vittoria, Scoglitti seafront: works worth almost 2 million started with PNRR funds

Work has started for the construction of the second section of the Scoglitti seafront for which economic resources amounting to 1.9 million euros have been intercepted from Pnrr funds. The councilor for public works of the municipality of Vittoria, Giuseppe Nicastro, clarifies: “The municipal administration, under the leadership of mayor Aiello, immediately had a clear objective which was, and still is, to guarantee greater attention to reality of Scoglitti. We did this by committing ourselves to unblocking the first construction site we had found in place, that of the first section of the seafront. But the concrete commitment was to seek new funding to continue this public work much sought after by all the citizens of Vittoria and Scoglitti. This is why, in synergy with the mayor and with the offices, since I took office we immediately worked to intercept the sums we needed to be able to extend the seafront route. We succeeded with the resources of the Pnrr and this is the demonstration that disproves those who say that with the aforementioned economic measures this municipal administration has not been able to achieve anything, that it has not been able to find resources. This is the answer that categorically denies the gossip and which instead certifies the administration’s commitment. The aforementioned stretch of the seafront will reach via Bassanesi. At the moment, excavation work is underway for the implementation of the system aimed at making all the white water flow out with individual wells. The concrete retaining wall is also being installed. It should be noted that we are focusing on a first block precisely to avoid blocking the walkways at the entrances to the bathing establishments in order to guarantee the necessary serenity when the bathing season comes into full swing and to make the economic operators work at their best. I want to thank the offices of the Department of Public Works with the manager, architect Elio Cicciarella, the manager of the CUC, architect Rosario Cultrone. And, again, thanks also to Mrs. Anna Leonardi of the tender office and to the rup, architect Giancarlo Eterno, with the technical support of Giuseppe Ricca and the administrative support of Lucia Panasia. And, again, the technical collaborators Massimo Cilia and Mario Garrasi as well as the administrative collaborators Donatella Dente and Giovannella Vitale. We are ensuring the necessary responses. And we are doing it by working in synergy as best we can.”
