Next Thursday 9 May, Reggio Calabria will host an event of political and cultural relevance: the meeting with Pasquale Tridico, leader of the 5 Star Movement in the Southern Constituency for the European Elections. The appointment, which will be held at 6 pm at the Accademia Restaurant in Largo C. Colombo, 9, will be an unmissable opportunity to discuss the crucial issues that characterize the current electoral campaign for the European Parliament.

Pasquale Tridico, former full professor of labor economics at the University of Rome 3, will present his latest book “Governing the economy so as not to be governed by the markets”, offering an in-depth analysis of the economic challenges that Europe must face and outlining the 5 Star Movement’s program for the European elections.

Alongside Tridico, important personalities from the political and academic panorama will speak, including Giuseppe Fabio Auddino, Provincial Coordinator of the 5 Star Movement and former senator in the last legislature, Professor Massimiliano Ferrara, Scientific Director of Decision_Lab and full professor of Mathematics at the University of Studies of Reggio Calabria, Professor Giorgio Fontana, Full Professor of Labor Law at the same University, and Professor Domenico Nicolò, Full Professor of Business Economics.

During the meeting, the crucial issues of the economy and the labor market will be addressed, with particular attention to the analysis of the Italian and European economic reality and the search for economic policy solutions that can reverse the trend, promoting greater equity and social justice. We will discuss the European policies of recent years, highlighting how it is necessary to overcome an idea of development that accentuates inequalities and instead aim for a more inclusive and fair future.

In this context, Pasquale Tridico underlines the importance of investing in a solid European welfare, with the establishment of a minimum citizenship income and a development and transition bank, which can support the ecological and technological transition of the continent.

The meeting in Reggio Calabria therefore represents an opportunity to reflect and discuss the challenges and opportunities that Europe and Italy face, and to help outline a more sustainable and inclusive future for all European citizens.
