The future is a serious matter: what Structural Plan for the city of Massa? Great concern among those who attended the meeting organized by the Quercioli Democratic Party.

Perhaps the study of New Structural Plan iIt interests the citizens of Massa more than expected given the great public response to the meeting organized by Quercioli’s Pd at the Rinchiostra last Saturday. Coordinated by councilor Stefano Alberti, the secretary of the club Riccardo Costa and the group leader in the city council Enzo Romolo Ricci intervened and directed the discussion. Costa clarified that it was the clubs’ first initiative to give more information to the neighborhoods and touched on all the issues that would be under discussion in addition to the Structural Plan, topics such as the environment, services, quality of life and more.
PD secretary Claudia Giuliani started.

“This will be the first meeting – confirms Giuliani – then we will go to all the clubs, all the neighborhoods of the city to listen to the problems, needs and suggestions of the residents. We will touch on all the topics to have a global vision of the city’s problems but also of the future while “our mayor – concludes Giuliani – continues to shift the responsibilities onto the Region”.

“I thank the Quercioli Pd club for the initiative on the neglected urban planning issue – Giacomo Bugliani begins his speech – which instead is the architrave, collector of everything that supports the future of the city. The opposition’s task will be to counteract the wrong directions of those who administer but we must not leave all the responsibility on the councillors, because only generic answers come from the administration”.

Then the word goes to the technician, to the architect Eugenio Giannetti who has dissected all the main points to be analyzed (interesting, but too many to report entirely here) and to review the Structural Plan which will be the task of the PD working group. There will be important observations to strongly support. The Structural Plan – confirmed the architect – is the responsibility of the municipality, it is valid for an indefinite period and must not indicate where it will be possible to build but indicate areas available for certain operations”.

“The group leader in the council, Dr. Enzo Ricci, recalled in this regard that “Unfortunately, in our small opposition group, half come from the former majority (FdI etc.). to confirm the need for external support to the city council and underlining that the Plan in question is a review of the one already done in 2010 and was a forecast plan for a population that has now decreased, and therefore is now “already off to a bad start”.

Even more incisive on the level is the intervention of Stefano Alberti.

“This is a plan without rhyme or reason – he claims – This administration doesn’t know what it wants and provides a whole series of concrete interventions already done and those it plans to do: see supermarkets in the Sensi area, So.ge.lor etc. Now we are preparing a questionnaire – concludes Alberti – which we will distribute to the Quercioli Villette neighborhood on what is missing, on what was requested and never done like a gym or the underpass at the station, for example”.

“The Structural Plan is a document, a very important act – former mayor Roberto Pucci opens his speech – and establishes the future of a city. The population has decreased, there is no longer a need for new houses. There is still space in the industrial area, see Ex Olivetti, and now also the Asian Store. We need to have an idea of the city, define the future. Climate changes mean reviewing the collection of water which must be disposed of and not to the purifier. Stop digging quarries – ends by touching another Pucci button – especially above 1000 metres, see Focolaccia or Alberghi”.

Massimo Corniani’s intervention went to the last plague, the Police Headquarters. “More concrete and waterproofed land now that climate change has become a reality, if we also cement the former Sensi land, flooding further down will become certain.” Then before the end important and much followed interventions by Maria Rosa Baldini, Laura Penaglia, Adriano Tongiani, Severino Meloni and Armida Ricci (new member of the Quercioli club coming from the closed one in Poveromo where – she said – she has been abandoned by the administrators for years ) but by then it was late and they will return to these in future meetings.
