Showcasing excellence in favor of scientific research for pediatric tumors. “Buonissimi 2024” is back, the charity event that will be held on June 17th at the Port of Marina d’Arechi in Salerno. Yesterday morning the presentation of the sixth edition was held at the Irno Rowing Club.

The event

The charity evening, organized byPediatric Oncology and Neuroblastoma Association – Open OdV and conceived by Paola Pignataro and Silvana Tortorella, sees the participation of around 300 operators including starred chefs, restaurateurs, pizza chefs and pastry chefs, who have been committed to this important cause for years.

The success of Buonissimi over these years has made it possible to raise 551 thousand euros to support research on pediatric tumors. The objective of the new edition is to support OPEN OdV in financing the EDITOR research project, promoted by the University of Naples Federico II in cooperation with CEINGE – Institute of Advanced Biotechnology.

Research

The research has the potential to reveal new tumor-predisposing genes that increase the risk of developing cancer in children and identify new therapeutic targets for the treatment of this devastating disease. Therefore, the results of this project have enormous implications in developing more precise and certain diagnoses and in facilitating precision medicine and cancer surveillance programs.

After the success of the last edition, in which significant funds were raised, reaching €151,000 gross, all eyes are on the new evening full of fun, good food and, above all, support for an important cause.
