As announced, the new Michelin Guide awards have arrived for hotels in Italy and around the world. Let’s talk about the “keys”, which can be assigned from 1 to 3. As they explain on the official website of the very famous guide, for this new selection, the inspectors of the Michelin Guide have chosen to highlight the hotels that welcome their guests at the highest levels and help create unique travel experiences.
“The Michelin Key is a clear and reliable indication for travellers. Just as Michelin Stars distinguish high-level restaurants, the Michelin Key will reward the most extraordinary hotels around the world. This distinction also recognizes the work of food professionals more serious and passionate hôtellerie”, declared Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides.
The Michelin Keys will in all respects be a new point of reference for international travelers and beyond. Three keys means that the hotel is unique, a term used in its best sense, two keys indicates an extraordinary place that offers a memorable experience. We are talking about hotels with character, personality and above all managed with care. However, a key is a sign that in that hotel they offered something different and that the service is always excellent and in any case stands out compared to structures with a similar price.
146 Michelin Keys have been awarded in Italy and many hotels on Lake Como have received this recognition.
The hotels on Lake Como awarded with the Michelin key
On Lake Como the Grand Hotel Victoria in Menaggio, the Sereno in Torno and the Grand Hotel Tremezzo have been awarded two Michelin keys. With a key Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Palazzo Albricci Pelegrini in Como, Passalacqua in Moltrasio and Villa Lario in Pognana Lario. A nice feast of merits for the hospitality industry on Lake Como but for this year no one has obtained the three keys.
