In agreement with the National Secretary Gianni Alemanno, the coordinator of the Independence Movement for Eastern Sicily, announces that he has appointed Angelo Cucchiara as coordinator of the Province of Enna.
For the Province of Ragusa, however, Massimiliano Mannelli and Alessandro Galfo were appointed as provincial coordinators, Giuseppina Rizzo as deputy provincial coordinator and president of the Territorial Club of Vittoria, and the lawyer Donato Grande as president of the Territorial Club of Ragusa.
Also in Sicily, therefore, the structure of the new political movement now present in all its provinces is consolidated.
In the coming weeks, Gianni Alemanno is expected to be present in the Province of Ragusa for a meeting with leaders and militants on a date that has yet to be defined.
Alemanno has appointed new managers in Sicily
Last month, Gianni Alemanno, former Minister of Agriculture and Mayor of Rome, appointed new managers in the province of Palermo. For Villabate Annamaria Meli, for Termini Imerese Roberto Bazzano, for Bagheria Fabio Catrisano and Salvatore Ferrara for Partinico.
Furthermore, Gianni Alemanno called Professor Marco Giammanco to join the national direction of the movement, who was entrusted with the role of head of health policies. He therefore continues the path of growth and affirmation in the Sicilian territory of Indipendenza, which is recording ever-increasing membership.
At the end of February the movement was presented in Catania
At the end of February the former mayor of Rome, Gianni Alemanno, former minister and promoter of the “Stop the war” committee, returned to Sicily after the presentation of the “Orvieto 23 Manifesto”, which took place in Palermo in September 2023. This time on the island in the role of national secretary of the neo-movement “Independence!”, established last November in Rome.
Alemanno, as part of the conference “Never again subjects. Sicily and Italy in the multipolar world”, which took place in the Etna capital and illustrated the project of the “Independence!” movement. At the center of the discussion is Italy’s position and choices within the European Union and NATO with an eye towards Sicily for its strategic position in the Mediterranean basin.
Signatures to recognize Palestine in January
In January, the political movement ‘Independence!’ has decided to join the collection of signatures for the popular initiative law proposal for the recognition of the State of Palestine by Italy, promoted by the ‘Schierarsi’ Association, led by Luca Di Giuseppe and Alessandro Di Battista. Among the promoters of the initiative are the former regional councilor, Fabio Granata, current councilor of Syracuse and Luigia Passaro, members of the national political executive of the “Indipendenza!” political movement.
